GMC Chevy Duramax DPF Removal Kits | Off-Road Exhaust Systems
Choose the correct Duramax DPF delete kit by matching your engine code, model year, truck platform, cab configuration, downpipe connection, pipe size, and exhaust layout. This collection covers DPF-equipped LMM, LML, L5P, and 2.8L LWN applications, plus downpipe-back exhaust systems for pre-DPF LB7, LLY, and LBZ trucks.
Competition-use notice: Products that remove, bypass, or disable emissions equipment are intended only for vehicles used exclusively in legally permitted off-road or closed-course competition. Federal law prohibits emissions-system tampering on motor vehicles, and state or local restrictions may also apply. Do not use these products on public-road vehicles. Confirm legal eligibility before purchasing or installing.
Find the Right Duramax Exhaust Kit
Start with the engine code and year range below. Then open the matching product page to verify the exact cab, bed, chassis, connection, diameter, and configuration options before ordering.
| Duramax engine |
Model years |
Supported application |
Important selection check |
| L5P 6.6L |
2017+ |
L5P DPF delete race pipe and downpipe-back options |
Select 2017–2019 or 2020+, 4- or 5-inch diameter, and the required exhaust layout. Listed for compatible Silverado and Sierra 2500HD/3500HD pickups; commercial chassis models are excluded. |
| LML 6.6L |
2011–2016 |
LML Duramax DPF delete exhaust |
Check the downpipe connection carefully: early 2015 trucks use a V-band connection, while 2015.5–2016 applications use a three-bolt flange. Cab & Chassis models are not supported. |
| LMM 6.6L |
2007.5–2010 |
LMM Duramax DPF delete race pipe |
Match the pipe to the cab and bed configuration. The listed system does not fit Cab & Chassis trucks. |
| LBZ 6.6L |
2006–2007 |
LBZ downpipe-back exhaust |
LBZ trucks were not factory-equipped with a DPF. Treat this as an exhaust-system purchase and verify the selected layout and pipe diameter. |
| LLY 6.6L |
2004–2005 |
LLY downpipe-back exhaust system |
LLY trucks did not receive a factory DPF. Confirm the truck configuration and available 4- or 5-inch exhaust option on the product page. |
| LB7 6.6L |
2001–2004 |
LB7 downpipe-back exhaust |
LB7 trucks were built before factory DPF use. The listed exhaust fits supported Chevy and GMC pickup applications but not Cab & Chassis models. |
| LWN 2.8L |
2016–2019 |
2.8L LWN turbo-back exhaust |
Designed for the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon rather than Silverado or Sierra HD trucks. This system uses a 3-inch configuration. |

Check More Than the Model Year
A model-year match alone does not guarantee fitment. Before choosing a Duramax DPF delete pipe or downpipe-back exhaust, verify:
-
Engine code: L5P, LML, LMM, LBZ, LLY, LB7, or LWN.
-
Vehicle platform: Silverado, Sierra, Colorado, or Canyon.
-
Pickup versus Cab & Chassis: several listed pipes exclude longer commercial chassis configurations.
-
Connection type: especially the early- versus late-2015 LML flange change.
-
Exhaust layout: race pipe, downpipe-back, muffled, dual-exit, or turbo-back where offered.
-
Pipe diameter: select only a size shown for the exact product and configuration.
Race Pipe, Downpipe-Back, or Turbo-Back?
A DPF race pipe replaces the exhaust section containing the diesel particulate filter while retaining other compatible sections. A downpipe-back system replaces the exhaust after the downpipe. A turbo-back system begins at the turbo outlet and replaces more of the exhaust path. These terms are not interchangeable, so check the product variant instead of ordering by diameter alone.
For a more detailed comparison, see how DPF race pipes and exhaust system layouts differ before selecting a configuration.
Confirm the Supporting Requirements
Removing factory emissions equipment from a DPF-equipped Duramax changes how the engine-management system operates. Compatible competition-use calibration may be required, and it is not automatically included with every exhaust product. Confirm the product contents, tuning path, model year, and all supporting requirements before checkout.
L5P owners should also review the L5P Duramax supporting-parts checklist before removing factory hardware. It explains why the pipe, ECM support, tuning path, and model year must be confirmed together for a legally permitted competition-use build.

Before Installation
Inspect the delivered parts against the selected product configuration before removing the factory exhaust. Review the vehicle-specific product information, connection type, included hardware, and any reusable factory components. For available vehicle-specific documentation, visit the SPETUNER instruction guide. Professional installation is recommended whenever fitment, calibration, or legal eligibility is uncertain.
