EGR Delete Kit FAQ
Q: What's the average install time for the EGR plate cooler and throttle valve delete kit?
A: Typically 1-4 hours, installation time based on proficiency.
Q: By doing the egr delete will my check engine light come on or stay on? If so what else is needed to turn off the engine light?
A: Installing this kit may trigger error codes related to vehicle deletion adjustments. However, any adjustment that involves deletion of the vehicle can result in throwing a trouble code, and if a cel occurs, you can use a tuner or other device to clear or block the associated error code.
Q: Will installing this kit void my vehicle's warranty?
A: Using this product may void your vehicle's warranty. Please confirm with your vehicle manufacturer before purchasing and installing this kit.
Q: Can you run the egr delete kit without the metal block off the plate and just put the piece that reroutes the coolant?
A:We do not recommend not using a metal baffle, and using only a coolant rerouting kit without a metal baffle may result in an incomplete seal of the EGR system, allowing exhaust gases to enter the intake manifold. It may lead to a variety of problems, including reduced engine performance and increased emissions.

2011-2019 Ford 6.7 Powerstroke
Q: I have a 2015 Ford F250 6.7 single cab pickup, you offer two delete pipes for the 4" stainless DPF delete (#10076 & #10073) and I'm trying to figure out what one I'll need and if I will need to cut it down since my truck is a single cab.
A: Both of them fit 15 F250, but #10076 is longer than #10073, and your car needs to be cut a little bit to fit. For the single cab, #10073 is more recommended.
Cab & Chassis
Q: Why do some of your dpf delete kits not work on cab and chassis models?
A: The Cab & Chassis has a relatively longer chassis and requires a tube specifically designed to fit the Cab & Chassis model. We mention Cab & Chassis in the title of our products for Cab & Chassis models, so you can check for yourself. For further assistance, you can contact our customer service.
Truck Tuners FAQs
Q1: What is the difference between the V1 and V2 versions of the Mini Maxx tuner?
A1: The V2 is a newer product released in 2022, while the V1 has been discontinued. The V2 no longer supports emissions and requires the removal of emission systems. It supports later model years, including 2019 Ford, 2021 RAM, and 2016 Duramax. However, V2 does not support custom tuning or overdrive transmission tuning, and lacks some special functions available in the V1.
Q2: Why didn’t my tuner ask about my emissions being removed?
A2: The V2 does not support emissions, so it does not ask whether your vehicle still has emission systems installed or not.
Q3: Do I need to remove my emissions when running the V2 tuner?
A3: Yes, you must remove the DPF/DEF/SCR systems and disconnect all associated sensors. The EGR system can remain installed, but the connectors should be disconnected. The throttle valve must be unplugged or removed.
Q4: Do you have any installation instructions?
A4: We currently do not have full installation instructions, but you can refer to the quick start guide and installation video available on our homepage.
Q5: How do I use the security bypass cable on my 2018+ RAM truck?
A5: For 2018 and newer RAM models, you must use the included bypass cable. This bypass cable comes with a replacement OBD box with a red stripe and a USB cable. Replace the OBD box that comes with the Mini Maxx with this new one, and follow the installation steps in the manual. Make sure the USB cable is plugged into the correct port to avoid freezing issues.
Q6: Why am I getting Error 294?
A6: Error 294 occurs when trying to install the tuner on an unsupported vehicle, such as a 2010-2012 RAM 4500-5500, which is not supported by the Mini Maxx.
Q7: Can the Mini Maxx V2 be unlocked remotely?
A7: No, the Mini Maxx V2 cannot be remotely unlocked.
Q8: Can I use the V2 update on the V1?
A8: No, using the V2 update on the V1 will make your V1 inoperable. The V1 does not support V2 update files.
Q9: Does the Mini Maxx need to stay plugged in after I tune my truck?
A9: No, the tuner does not need to stay plugged in. If removed, it will default to the "no power" tune level after a few drive cycles, but the delete tuning will remain in place.
Q10: Where do I wire the fuse tap for my truck?
A10: You will need to find a fuse that provides switched ignition power, which should have 12V when the key is in the ON position and 0V when the key is OFF.
Q11: Why does my tuner say "warm up mode"?
A11: Warm-up mode is designed to limit power until the engine reaches the proper operating temperature. You can adjust the warm-up settings through the defueling parameters in the menu: [Menu > Vehicle Setup > Defueling].
Q12: Can I use the Mini Maxx V2 with factory EGT probes?
A12: The Mini Maxx V2 does not support factory pyrometer/EGT probes. You should unplug all EGT probes, and if you need EGT readings, you can add a docking station to the Mini Maxx.
Q13: Why is my truck’s boost dropping to 20 PSI after tuning?
A13: Some 2013-2021 RAM models may experience boost dropping off to 20 PSI. A temporary fix is available through a BETA update for 2013-2018 RAM models, but a solution for 2019-2021 models is still in progress.
Q14: My 2014-2015 RAM is experiencing "loping" or "surging." What should I do?
A14: This issue can be addressed by updating to version 2.0.0.4 or higher. If the problem persists, contact support for additional assistance.
Q15: Does the Mini Maxx support dual fuel tanks on my 2011+ Duramax LML truck?
A15: No, the Mini Maxx does not support dual fuel tanks on the 2011+ Duramax LML. If you have a Cab & Chassis truck with dual tanks, using the tuner will disable the rear tank and cause the boost gauge to stop working.
Q16: Can I change tire size or adjust my speed limiter with the Mini Maxx?
A16: The Mini Maxx does not allow tire size changes or speed limiter adjustments.
Q17: Why does my 2017-2019 Ford Powerstroke show issues with the factory EGT sensor?
A17: On 2017+ Ford Powerstroke trucks, the Mini Maxx’s EGT sensor support is incompatible. For 2017+ models, unplugging the EGT sensor and clearing the codes will restore proper function. Additionally, the throttle position gauge will not work—do not use this gauge.
Q18: How do I fix the issue with the 2016 Ford Powerstroke showing the P04E3 code?
A18: The 2016 Ford Powerstroke does not have a PCV sensor, which causes the P04E3 code. To fix this, download the fix file from the website, extract it, and copy the file to the "FORD" folder on the SD card. Then update the firmware and reinstall the tune.

The FAQs of The EFI Tuner
Q: Does this come with the transmission tune?
A: It's included and written in the tune itself (not a separate file) for the 68RFE transmission.
Q: Will this tuner work if my truck is already deleted and I want to flash my truck and get rid of the tuner that’s on it?
A: While it's best practice to flash your truck back to the factory before installing another aftermarket tune, if that option is not available to you, Yes, the tuner will override whatever was on the truck before with our tune.
Q: When I install this delete dpf and def the service emissions code will also be gone?
A: Yes, this will turn off any check engine lights, service messages, and derates that are active due to emissions issues.
Q: Does your delete work well with the Aisin transmission?
A: Works great, and doesn't impact the AISIN at all.
Q: Is the stock tune saved so I could return it to stock if I wanted?
A: Sorry, the EFI live does not have this ability.
Q: Is the 100 hp tune safe to run on a stock LML Duramax?
A: No modifications are needed to run the +100HP tune. If you want to use it to hot rod the truck then the extra acceleration can cause extra wear and tear on the transmission.
Q: If I remove the egr and cooler completely and install a new air intake pipe in its place instead of just blocking plates (which means disconnecting the wiring harness to the egr solenoid) will this tuner still keep any code or check engine light from popping on
A: Yes, the EFI tuner will install a delete tune that will prevent any emissions-related check engine light from ever coming on again. Unplugging the EGR is a normal part of the delete process as well. You'll still have a CEL for anything normal like a loose fuel cap or a bad sensor.
Q: Is transmission tuning available for this? Or options for it?
A: It doesn't have a trans tune as an option here.
Q: Can other different tunes be downloaded to the tuner from somewhere else?
A: Yes, all you need to do is unlock the device by purchasing an unlock code from EFI live, Then whichever tuner you want to link up with, ask them to send you the required codes to lock it to them.
Q: Is there no tuning option for 5-speed Alison?\
A: It's written into the tune included for the ECM and optimizes line pressure for each power setting.
Q: Are these clean smokeless tunes or do they throw a puff of smoke?
A: The tune does not purposely cause smoke, but if you drive the truck hard on the highest power settings, you may blow some smoke on hard acceleration, it's a clean, smokeless tune.
Q: Will this disable my egr?
A: Yes.
Q: I bought a truck with a dps5 and tunes already installed but do not know what tunes are in it. Will this delete those tunes and start from scratch?
A: We recommend removing the old tunes, or flashing the truck's ECM back to factory settings before uploading our tunes on the truck.
Q: Does the shift on the fly work with the lbz Duramax?
A: DSP5/SOTF works for all pickup versions from 2001-2016. But for LML only (2011-2016) you will need an electronic transfer case for SOTF.
Q: Will this delete the egr out of my car?
A: Yes, it will delete the entire emission system including, but not limited to the EGR and the DPF.
