SPEtuner 4" to 5" Downpipe-Back Exhaust | 2016-2019 Nissan Titan XD 5.0L Cummins

Unleash the full potential of your 5.0L Cummins V8. The SPEtuner 4" to 5" Downpipe-Back Performance Exhaust is a premium, heavy-duty upgrade custom-engineered for the Nissan Titan. This system is designed to remove the massive, restrictive factory DPF and SCR assembly, allowing your twin-turbocharged V8 engine to breathe, spool, and pull like never before.

The factory emissions equipment on the Titan XD is a major thermal bottleneck, trapping excessive heat and forcing your truck into frequent, power-robbing regeneration cycles. Our performance exhaust replaces this "cork" with a high-velocity 4-inch to 5-inch mandrel-bent system. By slashing backpressure to zero, you gain an immediate boost in turbo response, lower EGTs under load, and the deep, rich exhaust note that the Cummins V8 is famous for.

Key Features

  • High-Flow 4" to 5" Expansion: Transitions smoothly from the turbo downpipe into a massive 5-inch straight-through exhaust body, eliminating the restrictive factory emissions filters.
  • Drastically Lower EGTs: Essential for the Titan XD's compound-turbo setup; dumping exhaust heat instantly prevents thermal saturation and protects your pistons and head gaskets during heavy towing.
  • Instant Turbo Spool & Response: Removing downstream restrictions allows your twin turbos to spool up instantly, eliminating the sluggish low-end response often felt in stock trucks.
  • Eliminate Emissions-Related Downtime: Permanently bypass the DPF and SCR sensors that often trigger "Reduced Engine Power" mode, keeping your truck on the road and out of the dealership.
  • Boosted Fuel Efficiency: Eliminating fuel-hungry DPF regeneration cycles saves raw diesel fuel and increases your overall towing MPG.
  • Signature Cummins V8 Rumble: Unleashes that unmistakable, deep, and aggressive V8 diesel roar without the obnoxious, high-pitched "hiss" of the stock emissions system.

What is the DPF and is it worth doing a DPF Delete?

Most post-2007 diesel vehicles are fitted with a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) for emissions reasons, however there are a few disadvantages to this device; including constant maintenance and repairs.

Because the DPF clogs up, it increases backpressure. Due to this pressure, the fuel flow is hugely disturbed and slowed down. Therefore, when you remove this filter, the fuel flows much easily and faster, increasing the overall fuel mileage.

Installation

Click to view the installation diagram and access the installation PDF document.

Install takes about 1hr with basic hand tools done on the ground of your driveway or garage. Quicker if you have automotive style lift. Cutting may be be required to fit shorter wheelbase bed/cab configurations. Clamps, hangers and hardware are included. You may have to re-use some factory hardware.

Tuner Required: Removal of the DPF, CAT, SCR, and/or DOC involves removing and eliminating emission related sensors. A DPF delete capable tuner is required to prevent any check engine light or diagnostic trouble codes from setting.

Benefits: Expect to see a significant increase in fuel mileage. If your DPF is plugged up your probably averaging about 13-14 mpg. More or less depending on the severity of the restriction. After deleting the DPF/CAT expect to get a combined mileage of 18-19 mpg.

  • It removes the need to service the DPF at regular intervals (cleaning, replacement)
  • A DPF delete will remove the possibility of a DPF failure which could cause expensive diesel repairs
  • Due to less exhaust backpressure, the DPF delete increases exhaust flow and therefore increases the performance of your motor!
  • Paired with an ECU remap, the DPF delete is proven to increase power and torque for all vehicles
